Professor Douglas Wiegmann, in collaboration with researchers at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, has been awarded a two-year, 2.1 million dollar grant from the Department of Defense to “Design the Operating Room of the Future.” The project involves studying trauma surgery teams and designing simulation-based scenarios to design and evaluate interventions for improving team performance and surgical outcomes.
